Trauma-informed yoga requires no prior experience and benefits everyone. It promotes resilience, self-regulation, and healing. Key principles include:
1. Prioritizing physical and emotional safety
2. Encouraging self-awareness and choice
3. Allowing participants to decide their level of engagement or rest
4. Fostering awareness of bodily sensations and breath
5. Giving participants agency over their experience
6. Using orienting, centering and grounding techniques to regulate the nervous system
7. Maintaining a more deliberate pace for processing and adjustment.

The practices are designed to help you reconnect with your body and find calm during overwhelming moments. These sessions provide a safe, supportive space to listen to your body and move at your own pace.
A 5-week series or individual session - can be especially empowering, especially if you include your spouse or partner.

Reiki is a form of alternative therapy called energy healing.
Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is transferred through the practitioner to the client in order to encourage emotional or physical healing or energy balancing.
